Very Good
It is great for sleeping and spending most of the time outside. Check-in and check-out was very convenient and you can easily lock your luggage for the day. Location is also good and you can reach all places by public transportation.

What was the highlight of M's Hotel Kyoto Station Taruya
Budget hotel in a great location. The room we booked was suitable for 2 people
About the check in - We arrived during office hours and a staff member let us in. We didn't need to wait and it was a seamless check in. No keys were issued only a pin to unlock the room. It was nice not having to worry about a key. About the hotel - Great value and location. The room was dated but sufficient for our purposes as we spent most of our time exploring. Facilities - paid laundry which accepts coins only, I loved the free water purifier available in the laundry room. Smoke room is situated near the laundry on ground floor. We were able to lock our luggage in the reception area (locks and keys provided) after checkout. First come first serve basis and the hotel doesn't take responsibility for loss. We secured 2 which was handy and allowed us to explore after check out. Food options available near the hotel as well as convenience stores .
We didn't realise we had the incorrect hotel entry code provided in the email confirmation. Lucky, a staff member was at reception, let us in and wrote the code for us on a piece of paper.

A nice place for a short visit
It was clean and efficient. The staff were courteous and helpful. There were some good restaurants and places if interest nearby.
It was a bit too far from the train station for me. Rooms are cramped with nowhere to put your bag.
